AI isn’t a threat, it’s a bridge. Discover how artificial intelligence can empower women, neurodiverse creators, and small businesses to thrive in the digital age.
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we work, create, and connect, but it should never replace the human behind the screen.
As a designer and creative, I see AI as a tool for empowerment, not competition. It’s an opportunity to bring more voices into the digital future — especially women and people with dyslexia, dyspraxia, or autism who bring unique perspectives and creativity.
Recent research and industry commentary highlight a crucial but often overlooked truth: ethical AI cannot exist without diverse cognitive perspectives. According to insights shared by Matthieu Leroux, Regional Vice President at UiPath, neurodivergent individuals bring exceptional strengths to AI development, particularly in pattern recognition, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving. Despite representing up to 22% of the global population, neurodivergent people remain significantly underrepresented in employment, even though studies show they often outperform neurotypical peers in technical and analytical roles.
What’s especially relevant for designers and creatives is that an estimated 20–50% of professionals in the creative industries are neurodivergent. Their ways of thinking don’t just improve datasets or algorithms, they shape more inclusive, accessible, and emotionally intelligent digital experiences. When AI systems are built without these voices, bias and exclusion are unintentionally reinforced. When they are included, technology becomes more human.
This reinforces why I see AI not as a replacement for creativity, but as an amplifier of diverse human potential. When combined with inclusive UX and thoughtful design, AI becomes a bridge, opening doors for women, neurodiverse creators, and small businesses to participate fully in the digital future.
